Types of engraving services

There are several types of engravings that you can get, they are as follows:

1.      Hand Engraving

Hand engraving is a method that requires the use of hands and hand-held rotary tools to create different engravings. It is one of the oldest ways of engraving. For you to perfect this art, you require several years of practice and training.

 

2.      Laser engraving

Laser is the latest technology being used in the engraving industry. The laser machine produces a light beam with a high resolution. This beam reacts with the different substrates and surfaces. It also generates heat that gives you the perfect finish on your material surface. There different types of laser machines come in ranging sizes, variations and for different uses.

 

3.      Computer engraving

Computer engraving is done using a computer which dictates the movement of the rotary or diamond tipped scratch when removing material from your object. Computer engraving exposes the colour of the metal in question. Computer technology is one of the most common engraving technologies in use today. Computer engraving is limited to only 10 fonts but cannot do graphic engraving. Commonly offered by trophy shops

 

4.      Machine engraving

This is where by you hold a small drill in your hand and as it spins, it cuts the substrate or metal.

 

5.      Acid etching

First, you produce a graphic. Then, chemically expose it to the material you want engraved. The exposed areas are dissolved leaving a finished product. This method is used to make photographic images with high details onto metals.

 

6.      Cast Bronze

This is a method used to make signs. You make a template from sand casting under high pressure. Then pour the molten metal onto the mould. You finally hand finish the plaque in to a unique product resistant to destruction due to extreme weather conditions.
